The workshop “Healthy Aging and Preventive Care” focuses on practical, evidence-based approaches that help individuals and communities maintain well-being, functional ability, and independence as they age. Healthy ageing is not merely the absence of disease; it involves optimizing physical health, mental resilience, emotional stability, and social engagement throughout the lifespan. Preventive care plays a crucial role in achieving this by identifying risks early, promoting healthy behaviours, and supporting environments that enable older adults to thrive.

This workshop will explore a range of preventive strategies, including lifestyle interventions such as nutrition, physical activity, stress reduction, and social participation—all of which contribute significantly to healthy longevity. Additionally, it will examine early detection methods for age-related diseases, the importance of screening programs, and ways to delay or reduce the progression of chronic conditions. A core focus will also be placed on community-based and family-supported care systems, highlighting how social structures can strengthen preventive health efforts, especially in ageing populations.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of global frameworks, such as the WHO Decade of Healthy Ageing, and how these can be integrated into local policies and practices. Through discussion and shared insights, the workshop will equip attendees with practical knowledge and tools to promote healthier ageing trajectories in diverse communities.
