Title of the Speech:Cyber Security for Senior Citizens
Dr. Nidhi Mishra is an accomplished academic in the field of Applied Psychology, currently serving as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department at the GITAM School of Humanities and Social Sciences in Visakhapatnam, India. With extensive experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership, she has contributed significantly to advancing psychological studies, particularly in understanding human behavior in the context of modern societal challenges.
The session titled “Cyber Security for Senior Citizens” addresses the growing importance of digital safety among older adults in an increasingly connected world. As technology becomes an integral part of everyday life, senior citizens often face unique challenges in navigating online platforms safely and confidently. This session aims to provide practical insights into recognizing common cyber threats, including phishing, identity theft, and online fraud, which disproportionately affect older individuals.
Key topics will include safe internet practices, protecting personal information, and identifying warning signs of cyber risks. Additionally, the session will highlight the role of families, communities, and institutions in supporting seniors to build a safer digital environment.
